Camera Work Techniques

 

Boom Shot

Vertical camera movement by having a steady 

recording of the window from the top to bottom.

Handheld

Slightly shaky and unstable movement to emphasize 

handheld tracking shot of subject going up the stairs.

Zoom

By changing the focal lens/zoom of the camera

 I slowly focused on into the subject.

Dolly

Slow and steady push in of camera to follow 

and engage with the subject.

Dolly/ Reverse zoom

The camera moves closer towards subject while zooming

 out at the same time on the camera to warp the shot.

Tilt

Tilting the camera down to up to display scale

 or drama or to show power towards subject.

Pan

Moving the camera from left to right with steady motion in 

1 position done by hand to follow the moving subject.

Tracking

Lateral movement following subjects and camera 

being held steadily parallel to the subjects.
